Digital wedding camera hire Vs Disposable table top cameras? Good question but how do you decide?
Disposable cameras and what to expect;
You can purchase a dedicated wedding/celebration disposable camera for around £4.99. Or a standard disposable camera from £1.99 although these are plain and you will need to purchase wedding table cards to ask your guests to use your cameras
You will also need to pay for processing and printing £4.99 for 6”x4” prints. Don’t forget if you want to share your pictures with friends and family this will also come at an extra cost.
We have found that in our surveys people who use disposable cameras have very mixed results, Most reporting that the pictures were of poor quality (pictures of the floor/ceiling or with heads chopped off) Some have even told us that more than six months after there event they still have not sent there cameras off for developing.
Another complaint was that a lot of the cameras had unused exposures left on them, an indication that the cameras are not very user friendly.
So for 10 cameras you will pay £49.90 for the cameras, and £49.90 for developing and printing. That’s £99.80 for 10 Cameras and only 24 exposures per camera.
Digital Cameras for hire;
There are a few ways to hire digital cameras now with prices ranging from £29.00 + VAT for a 7.2 mega pixel camera to £9.00 including VAT for a 10.2 mega pixel camera.
Digital cameras normally come with memory cards that can hold 300 pictures+ most can even record short videos (ensure that this facility also includes sound)
Most hire companies include a DVD or CD with all your pictures on (although some charge extra for this)
All pictures are digital quality and anything of around 10 mega pixel will easily produce quality poster size prints.
Prints can be made using the DVD/CD at most high street stores and supermarkets (ASDA for example charge only 5p per print at the moment) or by using your own computer and printer.
Our survey has found that most are very pleased with the results form digital camera hire as they are getting lots of good quality pictures from each camera, this we believe is for two reasons.
1/ When people use a digital camera they are using technology that they are used to and feel more comfortable with it.
2/ When a poor quality picture is taken, because you see each picture on the screen when you take it most people will delete a poor quality picture and take it again.
So, what do you get when you hire digital cameras.
For a 10 camera pack you can pay as little as £90.00.
Quality digital pictures, fewer heads chopped off and floor/ceiling pictures.
All your pictures uploaded to a DVD/CD in some cases FREE of charge (and don’t forget that also includes video too.)
You only need to print the pictures YOU want to print saving on printing cost’s.
And you can share your pictures with friends and family (anywhere in the world) For free by using your computer.
You can even post your pictures for sharing on your social web site such as facebook or Yahoo etc.
Conclusion;
Disposable; Poor quality pictures, you pay for unused exposures, less pictures overall.
Digital camera hire; Great quality digital pictures, over 300 pictures per camera, Video recording, No developing cost’s, and quality cameras your guest’s will feel more comfortable with.
